In the last hours we were in Ecuador, a cool fog had begun to settle over the mountain region. This photo was taken overlooking a field of local plants.
Thanks to the Memorial Day weekend (that’s right, I’ve been holding on to these little babies for a MONTH), I got the chance to delve into that guilty pleasure known as reading. By happenstance I found myself reading Receiver of Many and was astonishingly reminded why I love Greek Myth retellings. And of course the best ones are about Hades and Persephone.
While in between chapters. I took some time to play around in Illustrator, and well, there you go – some myth-inspired logo-type buttons? banners? Pretty things to use in your work. All images are scaled, grouped vectors in both black and white. Also included in the zip are pdf and psd versions for your ease.

There is never a wrong time to use a wood floor texture and these ones have come all the way from South America. While my friends on the trip looked very concerned with me as I snapped these photos, I did know exactly what I was doing. At the end of our third day in Ecuador, we stopped at a village high up in the Chimborazo mountains. Across from the village was a wild field of Quinoa, blooming bright a proud. It was just too pretty not to take a photo.
